Chonburi, Thailand

2012 challenge

The name of Thailand's Chonburi Province means "city of water," as it is positioned on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. The IBM team worked with two of Chonburi Province's cities: Pattaya City and Laem Chabang. In Pattaya City, their recommendations responded to the city's aim to become a world famous tourist destination by addressing traffic management and public safety concerns related to tourism growth. In Laem Chabang, they helped Laem Chabang Port, Thailand's largest port, create a roadmap to realize its vision of becoming a leading modern port offering superior services to Southeast Asia by achieving more efficient operations and a better environmental impact.
