Athens, Greece

2015 challenge

45% of the Greek population, or 4 million people, live in Athens, leading to significant road congestion that negatively affects both quality of life and economic vitality. Mayor Yiorgos Kaminis asked IBM to help develop a plan to use technology to support sustainable mobility options for citizens and smarter traffic management that will make tasks like parking and freight transport more efficient.
