The Honorable Francisco de la Torre Prados

Francisco de la Torre Prados is currently Mayor-President of Málaga, Spain and has served in this capacity since April 2000. He is also a Member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces. Mayor de la Torre also served as President of the Local Finance Committee of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces from April 2001 to May 2003, Deputy Mayor of Málaga, and City Councilman for Housing, Construction and Territorial Development from June 1995 to April 2000.

Previously, he was President of the Málaga Transport Company (June 1995 to June 1999); Head of the Málaga Delegation of Agriculture; Representative in Congress for Málaga (June 1977 to October 1982); Minister of Economy and Finance and Tourism of the first Junta de Andalusia pre-autonomic; and President of the Málaga Provincial Government.

Mayor de la Torre is an Agronomy Engineer and received a Bachelors of Art in Sociology and Regional Development Speciality from the University of Rennes (France).
