Samuel Mwamburi Mwale is currently Principal Secretary & Assistant Secretary to Cabinet at Office of the President, Government of Kenya. He was previously Economic Advisor at the State House, and prior to that, Economic Advisor to the National Economic & Social Council and Ministry of Planning & National Development. Since 2006, he has served in Presidency as economic advisor and deputy to the head of Kenya's public service.

Mwale is an experienced economist, public policy practitioner, and chief executive in the Government of Kenya. He has been involved in all key economic and public sector transformation strategies in Kenya since 2003, providing thought leadership and team leadership at the top levels of public service. He has previously run his own consultancy practice and written a regular business column in Kenyan media.
