Tony Brun

Chief Executive Officer, City of Greater Geraldton, Australia
Tony Brun is the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Greater Geraldton and also is an Adjunct Associate Professor and Chairman of the Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute. He has extensive experience in executive and professional roles in the private sector, public works and local government. Brun was awarded the prestigious 2012 University of Southern Queensland Faculty of Engineering and Surveying Alumnus of the Year.

Mr. Brun demonstrated significant leadership in urban and public work planning and provision. His strategic vision ensures that both Bunbury and Geraldton are positioned to become major regional powerhouses. His recent projects in Geraldton have received international acclaim as a finalist in the Reinhard Mohn Prize and winner in the United Nations Environmental Program LivCom Awards. Mr. Brun has also seen the selection of Geraldton as one of the IBM Smarter Cities Global Challenge cities. His active promotion of Geraldton has also seen it awarded host port status and sponsor a yacht in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.

Mr. Brun has been extensively involved in public policy and project areas producing key policy papers which have influenced policy and regularly speaks and presents at conferences and forums. An avowed 'Regionalist' he was also a key driver in forming the WA Regional Capitals Alliance comprising the major regional capital cities. He is the Deputy Chairman of Regional Capitals Australia.

Mr. Brun is married to Lyn and has 3 boys. He loves his rugby and spends his time involved with his children's sports activities.
