Roberto Visentin has been the Mayor of Siracusa, Italy since June 2008. Previously he served as town councillor in Siracusa from 1999 to 2004, and again from 2004 to 2008. He also served as President of Anci Sicilia (the Association of municipalities of Sicily); and President of Fondazione Inda (National Institute for Ancient Drama) of the International Center of Baroque Studies and of the Provincial union of Mayors on healthcare.

As a civil engineering project leader, he was involved in many projects for buildings, roads, hydraulics works, strengthening and urban works, experience he brought to his job in Public Administration. Mayor Visentin and his wife, Elisabetta, reside in Siracusa.
